Tonya Fulkerson

Tonya Fulkerson

Co-Founder, FK & Company

Tonya has grown one of the nation’s most influential political fundraising firms, successfully leading effective fundraising programs that fuel many of the country’s most contentious and expensive campaigns for Members of Congress, SuperPACs, and political 501(c)4s.

Cycle after cycle, Tonya has raised record dollar amounts for high-profile clients, including U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), DSCC Chairman U.S. Senator Gary Peters (D-MI), U.S. Senators Martin Heinrich (D-NM), Maggie Hassan (D-NH) and Chris Coons (D-DE). As a senior advisor to Senate Majority PAC, she has raised hundreds of millions of dollars for the nation’s most influential, left-leaning SuperPAC that shapes the country’s most competitive Senate races. Prior to co-founding FK&Co, Tonya served as Finance Director for the Mid-Atlantic Region at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) while U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) was DSCC Chairman during the 2006 and 2008 cycles.

For more than 20 years, Tonya has amplified the voices of candidates who share her vision for a better future by connecting wealthy donors with political causes and campaigns. She has cultivated an extensive network of funders nationwide through cutting-edge research and long-standing relationships with corporate executives and high-net-worth individuals. Tonya’s political acumen and in-depth understanding of campaign finance, along with well-honed instincts, make her an adept advisor to clients navigating the evolving landscape inside the beltway and across the country.

Tonya’s strategic vision and thoughtful management style have been instrumental in shaping FK&Co’s business strategy, developing its senior leadership team, and fostering a culture rooted in integrity while celebrating hard work, ambition, and innovation.

Tonya also works with nonprofit clients to build an effective network of funders and allies and host dynamic events. She has championed fundraising efforts for Sandy Hook Promise, including launching its annual Promise Champions Gala to honor congressional members for their commitment to violence prevention through gun safety and mental health awareness. She has also worked with March of Dimes to support its annual Gourmet Gala, a cook-off during which Members of Congress present dishes to a panel of D.C.’s most renowned chefs.

A native of Slidell, Louisiana and graduate of the Louisiana State University, Tonya began her career in Baton Rouge working for the Louisiana Democratic Party during the 2002 election cycle. She lives in Washington with her husband and their two children.

Ashley Kennedy

Ashley Kennedy

Co-Founder, FK & Company

Since co-founding FK & Company in 2009, Ashley has built one of the top political fundraising firms in the country, leading fundraising strategy for Members of Congress, PACs, corporations, and nonprofit causes.

Ashley has raised record-breaking dollars for some of the fiercest and most expensive Senate campaigns across more than 25 states, including U.S. Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV), Gary Peters (D-MI), Maggie Hassan (D-NH), and John Hickenlooper (D-CO). She led the fundraising efforts for U.S. Senator Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) when, in 2018, she became the first woman to represent Arizona in the U.S. Senate. And she championed the fundraising campaign for U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill (D-MO) when she won in 2012, defying predictions that her re-election was impossible. Before launching her fundraising career, Ashley worked in the legislative offices of Senator Robert Byrd and Senator John D. Rockefeller IV.

Over her nearly 20 years in the industry, Ashley’s earned a reputation for recognizing the opportunities and complexities each candidate faces from the campaign trail to Capitol Hill. She meticulously designs and orchestrates multi-channel fundraising strategies that maximize each client’s potential while leveraging their time and resources. Her experience includes securing seed money and cultivating donor networks, supporting preliminary campaign operations, or, when necessary, stepping in to supplement campaign fundraising efforts during particularly tight races.

Ashley’s built an unparalleled network of funders from coast-to-coast and cultivated long-standing relationships with donors that guide her instincts about which candidates and issues will motivate them. She counsels high-net-worth individuals, Fortune 100 Companies, and family foundations on philanthropic giving, helping them calculate when and where to invest key contributions. She also advises nonprofit organizations on political financial strategy, from gala planning to donor cultivation to navigating Capitol Hill.

Ashley is from West Virginia and graduated from the University of Richmond with her B.S. in Business Administration and Economics. She obtained her M.B.A. from West Virginia University.

Ashley lives in Washington, D.C. with her husband and their three children and can often be found cheering for her kids on a soccer field or training for her next marathon.
